Benefits of tree work on 7

This picture shows all of the benfits of the tree work on 7. Light is getting in and helping the grass stay healthy even after a really poor winter. The picture below also shows how good the grass cover is. We will come into the spring in much better shape and the whole area looks brilliant after the new steps have gone in. Just the black tees to go and top off the path with new gravel.

Steps on 7

After quite a lot of work and snow delays tha main steps on 7 are nearly finished. They are ready for use but please be careful as we shall wait till really dry weather before we put the astroturf on. It also allows members to admire the architecture before we unfortunatly cover it all up in the name of health and safety.

Heather Bed

Although it has taken a while you can start to see my vision!!! The colours are really starting to show a contrast and give it another year and I think it will look great. We need to add a few extra plants but its getting there.

Snow Mould

Damage to the 7th greens and collar. The "Snow Mould" disease developed under the snow. as surprisingly the microclimate under the snow was at times quite warm, and wet - which favoured the development of the disease.

Golf Course is Open

Dear all

The golf course is now open for play, although the snow has caused much devastation. Gorse across the whole site has been fatally damaged and the "snow mould - a fungal diasese which develops under the snow" has attacked the putting green and several other greens quite badly. Tree limbs are down everywhere and we will be working incredibly hard top get the golf course back into shape as quick as possible. More information will follow this quick post when we are able to collate it.

For now the course is open but please contact the pro shop for day to day accurate course information.

Kind regards

Daniel
