Left hand side bunker on 16 nearly finished

Really pleased with the final result. The bunker is a little softer than other we have done but finish is by far our best.

Training

Chris going through standard operating procedures with the guys hand mowing.  Trying to keep standards high and consistent.

Slitting

Old machine and traditional methods but still very good.  Really quick and effective with little mess

Progress

Despite the horrible weather, progress is going very well on the bunkers on 16. The bunker on the left is finished and we have started putting the sand in, which should be finished today. The Blinder bunker liner is excellent and has allowed us to get the bunker completed even in the poorest of weathers.

The bunker on the right hand side of 16 is much more complicated. We have had to prune the tree roots from the lime to stop the encroaching into the bunker, drain the pond and the area all around the bunker which traditionally lies very wet and also drain the bunker and install a soil liner to compensate for the poor, stony soil.

The project is very nearly completed but the wet conditions have prevented us going any further. The revet edge is in and the base is completed. We will now reshape the bunker noses and wait till some drier weather to final grade and turf the bunker and firm the base.

Bunker on 16

Trying to get the bunker on 16 right.  Its a tricky job as we dont want to come back if its not right.  Looking good so far

Course looking great today
Loads of rain overnight but greens have held up so well. Thats when all the disruptive work is worth it.  Cut and rolled.  Play and look great.

Blinder installation on the new 16th bunker at Bearwood Lakes. Looks great, till the rain came. It will help keep the bunkers in much better condition. The edge will then have a small revet and we can then roll the soil over the top. This is the most expensive bunker was have ever installed but I think it will show what the extra money is worth it.
