Wildlife
The course looks great at the moment, as we put the final touches to the course for the club championship. However, the out of play areas also look stunning. He is a picture by middle lake. The rhododendron is still in flower and the foxgloves are coming through. We cleared the woodland a little while ago and I think this has helped. The lake edge with its diverse rich mix of plant species is really special at this time of year.

What goes into a tournament
An amazing video about what we do. More than most courses in this example, but the basic principals are the same at courses across the world.

Top dressing
Top dressing greens is beneficial to the turf for so many reasons, which is why every golf course in the world carries it out. Some of the benefits include;
1. Better drainage
2. Reduced disease susceptibility
3. Smother and faster ball roll
4. Firmer surfaces
Most golf clubs now apply light and frequent applications of sand which has a positive effect on the putting quality both in the long and short term.
Unfortunately golfers believe that the application of top dressing to the golf course has a negative effect on the putting quality
Trueness of the putting surfaces can now be measured and here is a quick video to show how we can measure the effect of top dressing on the greens surfaces. Perhaps, it is not as bad as people think?
